Mental well being , what are we really talking about? To me it is finding the right balance in everyday living dealing with the good the bad and the ugly as this can’t be avoided who knows what is around the corner I still remember that sinking feeling when my doctor told me I had cancer. I also remember the many great family christmas gatherings we stil have that give me so much joy. This is just one illustration about appreciating the positives in our lives . Throughout life there will be ups and downs for ourselves and our families that hold us together. For others it could be a close friend if we all had someone to turn to in our hour of need we are blessed , and psychologists would hardly be needed. Life as it is in my world
Don’t really know where to start so I’m just writing the first thing that comes to mind and today that is my daughter Helen who sadly passed away when she was only twelve. That feels like yesterday it always is there with you .I promised myself at the time that I would refuse to give into everlasting defeat but instead in her memory I would do everything I could to stay strong and make her proud of me. Hopefully and I think I have lived up to that promise. Amen
That I’m willing to give and take sometimes easier said than done but we have to try to be the best person we can be , make mistakes and learn from them.
Oh Oh This poor poor world
How much longer do we have to endure the psychopathic behavior of many of our so-called world leaders I’m watching on YouTube, as I’m writing this, an Algerian diplomat speak about a soul-destroying message to the rest of the world and the Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu about war and the consequences for ordinary people.
I’m now 86 years of age and survived World War 2 now my only concern is for all the creatures that share our earth including my own family and grandchildren. What will their future look like?
We Have had since then seen Wars in Vietnam – Korea – Afghanistan – Iraq – all with disastrous outcomes for its people, currently we have wars In Ukraine v Russia also Gaza v Israel and many less publicized hot spots around the globe. I t would appear the human race is on a “hell-bent” journey of self-destruction.
My apologies for this sad publication, normally I like to spend my time being positive and outgoing like the pleasures of Art and Music or re-potting my Bonsai’s, my own attempt at staying in touch with my own “better world” family and friends. With all my love and best wishes Klaas Kalma

Hello there and welcome to Trump World or should I say The Trump Circus
Has America ever had a dodgier character as President? I don’t think so.
It should be highly entertaining now that we all have access to modern media. Trump will be in our face most of the time with unlimited rhetoric and advice on how to solve the world’s problems and how to best cheat at golf , it should be hilarious and entertaining providing there are others that can squeeze his nether region if he goes too far. That would not surprise considering the loose cannon that he is. All in all we are in for an interesting time. It is also a time when Australia should protect its independence and stop being a lacky for the US.

Hello friends foes and family.This time last week the 15/11/2023 I had a plate put in my neck to hold my spine together.Can you imagine that. That’s what you get for being too active, but hey absolutely marvellous what can be done . So never give up whatever it is that ails you keep on fighting back. You can do it too. Well it’s Christmas again.
At 83 it is starting to feel like my life is on a old fashioned 8mm recording tape on a loop . I’m sitting up in bed writing this and thinking was I really a Curley haired little boy once in a totally different world? On Sunday Christmas Day most of our family will be here to celebrate which is always wonderful. From grandchildren Maisie Mark and a young giant Harry aged 2-14-and 23 respectively .Also sons and daughters wives and me at 83. Mind you it ain’t over yet I have far too much to do before the fat lady sings. Just started writing a book of short stories to be published in 2023 , there are paintings to do ,songs to write , places to travel to and so much more. So to all of you keep on trucking and have a lovely Christmas.Klaas

Christmas is over
Hello friends foes and family . Christmas is over . And what a relief . The uncertainty about life in general during COVID has been universally demanding Christmas and getting there was like running a marathon and finally getting over the line , to look for a new beginning. Planning for a better future . Lessons learned not easily forgotten. Always looking forward to the next challenge the next achievement no matter how large or small. Yes we are humans and we can all do something for our planet and each other if we have the vision and will to try and make a difference . So come on it’s a new day to start a better life.
